How to prepare photos, signatures, and PDFs for a form

Before preparing an upload, record the required format, maximum size, dimensions, and document rules. Fix only what needs changing, then verify the downloaded output rather than assuming a successful conversion guarantees acceptance.

Build a requirement checklist

  1. Read the destination’s current instructions; avoid assuming an old application’s settings still apply.
  2. Record allowed formats, maximum bytes, width and height, page count, and any file-naming rule.
  3. For printed photos, record physical dimensions and resolution as well as framing and background requirements.
  4. Keep the original file in a separate place before making changes.

Check more than the green size indicator

A result can meet the byte limit while having the wrong format or crop. Use the result’s actual size and dimensions, and inspect the preview at a useful scale. Reopen the downloaded file when the document matters.

Signature trimming is a near-white heuristic and can remove faint strokes. Passport resizing does not certify a photo’s official suitability. For existing PDFs, structural rewriting cannot promise a tiny target when scanned images dominate the file.

Keep private files private

FileFit’s current image and PDF operations run in the browser. No account, file upload endpoint, third-party file processing, or document database is used. Website hosting still involves ordinary page requests.

Close the tab to leave the workspace and delete unwanted downloads from shared devices. Do not email sensitive documents when reporting a problem; send the tool name, browser, file type, and reproduction steps using a non-sensitive sample if necessary.
