How it works
JPG-to-PNG conversion writes the decoded image into a lossless PNG container. It does not restore detail lost in the JPG or create a transparent background automatically.
- Choose the JPG. PNG output is preselected.
- Keep dimensions or enter the required size. PNG has no lossy quality control.
- Convert and compare file size before downloading.
Supported files and limits
JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and browser-decodable AVIF. Images are limited to 32 megapixels. Up to 40 MB per file; batches up to 20 files and 80 MB. Single-document operations accept one PDF.
Useful answers
Does PNG restore JPG quality?
No. PNG stores the decoded pixels without another lossy encoding step; existing JPG artifacts remain.
Why did the PNG get much larger?
Lossless PNG can need more space for photographic content than JPG. The result card reports an increase accurately.
Does conversion remove the background?
No. Converting a photograph to PNG does not identify or erase its background. FileFit has no automatic background removal.
