How it works
JPG cannot store transparency. FileFit fills transparent areas with the background color you select, then creates a lossy JPG. Check that text and edges remain clear.
- Choose the PNG. JPG output is already selected.
- Under Advanced options, choose the background for transparent areas; adjust quality or a size limit.
- Convert, inspect the filled background and edges, and download the JPG.
Supported files and limits
JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and browser-decodable AVIF. Images are limited to 32 megapixels. Up to 40 MB per file; batches up to 20 files and 80 MB. Single-document operations accept one PDF.
Useful answers
Will transparent areas stay transparent?
No. JPG has no alpha channel. Transparent pixels are placed on the chosen background; use PNG or WebP if alpha must remain.
Is a JPG always smaller than a PNG?
No. Photos often encode efficiently as JPG, while simple graphics or small PNGs may already be compact. FileFit reports the real increase or reduction.
Is JPG suitable for screenshots with text?
It can soften sharp text and introduce artifacts. Compare at readable magnification; keep PNG when crisp edges matter more than a smaller file.
