How it works

This workspace starts at 500 KB (500,000 bytes). A 500 KB ceiling allows more data than the smaller presets, but busy photos can still need dimension reduction. Never enlarge a smaller file just to approach the limit.

  1. Choose a supported photo. The maximum size is already 500 KB.
  2. Keep the required dimensions if the form specifies them. Choose JPG or WebP when the destination accepts lossy images.
  3. Compress and check that the output is no more than 500,000 bytes. Review readability before downloading.

Supported files and limits

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and browser-decodable AVIF. Images are limited to 32 megapixels. Up to 40 MB per file; batches up to 20 files and 80 MB. Single-document operations accept one PDF.

Useful answers

Does 500 KB mean exactly 500,000 bytes?

FileFit treats 500 KB as a maximum of 500,000 bytes, using decimal KB. A smaller file meets this size requirement; no padding is added to make it larger.

Will every photo fit under 500 KB?

No. A 500 KB ceiling allows more data than the smaller presets, but busy photos can still need dimension reduction. Never enlarge a smaller file just to approach the limit. If fixed dimensions prevent meeting the limit, the result is marked as over the target.

What else should I check before submitting?

Check the actual format, pixel dimensions, orientation, and readability as well as bytes. A size limit alone does not describe every upload rule.
